I started The Rainbow Rack with the goal of creating unique fashions with vintage inspiration for the modern age. My designs are for the fashion-forward conscious consumer; couture pieces as unique as you are, created ethically in Western Massachusetts.
I believe in using secondhand garments and salvaged textiles to combat the waste and exploitation of the fashion industry at large. Since 2008, I have been using sustainable materials to create unique, one-of-a-kind clothing, jewelry, and wearable art pieces. My hand stitched bead work is crafted with care and intention, incorporating found objects, precious stones, and antique beads. I source vintage denim jackets and give them a colorful twist by weaving them with strips of fabric to form strikingly graphic patterns. Selecting gently used clothing and embellishing each piece with custom-designed embroidery, I create micro-collections of one-of-a-kind apparel. By reusing secondhand materials to create something new, we can reduce waste and rethink our dependence on the global garment industry.
The Rainbow Rack is fashion for the future, inspired by the past, and rooted in the present.
